Dr Matthew A Johnson (“Dr J”) is the Founder and Owner of Team Squatchin USA. He was born in Astoria, Oregon in 1961. However, he grew up in Salem, Oregon. He played basketball for South Salem High School where he obtained All-Conference, All-State, and Honorable Mention All-American accolades. He went on to play college basketball at the University of Alaska at Anchorage. He had the privilege of scoring his first two collegiate points on ESPN TV against James Worthy of North Carolina in the Great Alaska Shootout. He played against Sam Perkins, Patrick Ewing, Clyde Drexler, Sam Bowie, Spud Web, and many other noteworthy opponents. He even got half his picture in Sports Illustrated magazine. His silly teammate was in the way of the other half.
“Dr J” lives in Puyallup, Washington. He has four wonderful children. He is a psychologist and has worked in the Mental Health Field since 1982 in a variety of treatment settings (i.e., Group Homes, Residential Treatment Centers, Inpatient Psychiatric Hospitals, Outpatient Treatment Centers, and Private Practice Settings). He authored “Positive Parenting with a Plan.” He has spoken in all 50 States, most Canadian Provinces, and at the “World Family Therapy Conference” in Europe.
“Dr J” is one of the most credible people in the Bigfoot world. On July 1, 2000, he has a “Class A” Bigfoot encounter with his family while hiking on a mountain above the Oregon Caves National Monument Park. After his life changing sighting, he went public and described one of the most intense encounters ever.
In 2010, “Dr J” re-met his fiance, Cynthia Kreitzberg, at their 30th high school reunion. They started dating a few months later. At present, “Dr J” has two habituation areas: (1) The Southern Oregon Habituation Area (SOHA) established in 2007, and (2) The Washington Habituation Area (WAHA) established in 2011 (i.e., In the greenbelt behind Cynthia’s home). You can join them and all other TS-USA members on Facebook at “Team Squatchin USA.”
Cynthia A Kreitzberg is “Dr J’s” fiance as well as an Administrator for Team Squatchin USA. She was born in Butte Montana in 1962. Cynthia grew up in Salem, Oregon. She spent her summers in Montana, on the Oregon Coast, and in remote areas of British Columbia Canada. Cynthia encountered deer, bear, moose, beaver, muskrats and lots of other wildlife during those years – but she never encountered a Sasquatch.
After graduating from South Salem High School, Cynthia moved to western Washington to attend college at the University of Puget Sound. Cynthia received her degree in Computer Science and Business and went on to work for a large law enforcement agency in Washington. She worked in computer systems development and maintenance. After taking many years off from work to raise her children, Cynthia recently returned to work for the same law enforcement agency in Washington.
Cynthia has three beautiful and talented children – two daughters and a son. While attending her 30th High School reunion Cynthia re-met Matthew A. Johnson. One of the things Cynthia and Matt discussed that very first day was Matt’s encounter at the Oregon Caves in 2000. Once they started dating a few months later, Matt included Cynthia in his on-going adventures and encounters in his Southern Oregon Habituation Area. After Matt moved to Puyallup, Washington, they discovered to their astonishment that they had another Habituation Area in the greenbelt behind Cynthia’s house.
Howie Gordon is a member of Team Squatchin USA. He lives in Chicago, Illinois. He is a Reality TV Star who participated in “Big Brother” (Season 6) and “Big Brother All-Stars” (Season 7). In 2009, “Jedi Howie” contacted “Dr J” about his interests in learning more about the Bigfoot/Forest People. He has been “Squatchin” with “Dr J” every summer since that time. In September of 2011, Howie was with “Dr J” and Cynthia as a Sasquatch walked up to them during a “Night Sit” experience. It is an encounter that he will never forget.
Grady Johnson was born in Grants Pass, Oregon in 2007. He is the youngest member of Team Squatchin USA. He’s been “Squatchin” with his dad, “Dr J”, since the age of two. He is closer to the ground than his dad and, therefore, able to spot potential Bigfoot tracks. He loves going out into the woods with his dad and he hopes to actually see the Bigfoot/Forest People much sooner than later.
